Made-To-Measure Process
STEP 1 - Book an Appointment
Operating by appointment only allows us to offer the exclusivity our process is known for from the very start. We are dedicated to personalising the experience for each of our grooms.
Book your appointment through our online calendar, where you can choose between two wedding appointment options - one for grooms only and another for grooms and groomsmen.
We recommend beginning the process 2–3 months before your wedding to allow for a seamless journey. During your appointment, you’ll meet with our team to discuss your requirements, explore fabric and design options, and receive expert guidance tailored to your needs.
STEP 2 - Design & Fit
We offer a carefully curated selection of the finest fabrics from Britain and Italy, along with a wide range of design options. With years of tailoring expertise, we provide personalised guidance to ensure your suit is crafted to perfection.
During your first appointment, we’ll discuss the finer details of your wedding day—such as the season, location, and theme—to help us recommend the most suitable fabrics and styles. These factors also influence turnaround time, so sharing them early ensures a smooth process.
Next, we’ll take precise measurements using our house block suiting system, which is applied across our entire made-to-measure offering. Once all details are finalised, we’ll place your order with a 50% deposit.
From fitting to production, we ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience, guiding you through each step to create a suit that feels as exceptional as your wedding day.
STEP 3 - Second Fitting
After placing your order, your garments will be expertly constructed over a period of 4–6 weeks. Once they arrive from our factory, we’ll arrange a follow-up fitting to ensure the perfect fit, making any necessary alterations as needed.
FAQs
What is a Made-To-Measure suit, and how does it differ from Bespoke or Ready-To-Wear suits?
At Andréa Kọsta, we specialise in made-to-measure (MTM) suits. An MTM suit starts with an existing pattern that is adjusted to your measurements and style preferences, ensuring a personalised fit. This process typically includes two fittings to refine the details.
In comparison, a bespoke suit is crafted entirely from scratch, with a unique pattern made exclusively for you. Bespoke tailoring is fully handmade, involves multiple fittings (usually 3–5), and offers the highest level of personalisation.
A ready-to-wear (off-the-peg) suit, on the other hand, is pre-made in standard sizes and allows for only minor alterations.
MTM sits between these options, combining machine precision with hand-finishing techniques to create a suit tailored to you - offering a refined fit without the extended timeline of bespoke.
What is the lead-time for a Made-To-Measure wedding suit?
Our made-to-measure process typically takes 4–6 weeks from your initial fitting to the second fitting.
If you choose from our house fabrics (available in our factories), the process takes approximately 4 weeks.
If we need to order fabric from our mills, an additional 2 weeks is required.
This timeline allows us to refine the fit and details before your suit is ready for final adjustments. We recommend starting the process 2-3 months in advance of your wedding to ensure a seamless experience.
What measurements are taken for a Made-To-Measure suit?
During your first fitting, we assess your body shape and fit you into one of our pre-made patterns. We then take precise measurements to ensure a tailored fit. Throughout this consultation, we work with you to refine the details, ensuring the suit reflects your personal style and preferences.
What customisation options are available for a Made-To-Measure wedding suit?
With our made-to-measure service, you can personalise every detail to create a suit that reflects your style. Choose from:
Fabrics from leading mills in Britain and Italy, available in a wide range of colours, textures, and weights.
Lapels, pockets, and vents to refine the overall look.
Over 30 button options for a personalised touch.
A selection of linings to add a unique detail inside your suit.
These options ensure your suit is tailored not just to your measurements but to your personal preferences and the occasion.
How many fittings are required?
We require two fittings for a made-to-measure suit.
First fitting: We take your measurements and finalise your style preferences before placing your order.
Second fitting: Once the suit arrives, we assess the fit and make any final adjustments if needed.
In some cases, a third fitting may be necessary if there have been significant changes in weight.
This process ensures a well-tailored suit that feels and looks just right for your wedding day.
Can I make changes to the suit design after the first fitting?
Yes, design changes can be made within a limited timeframe.
If your order is placed before 15:00 (UK time), you can request changes until 15:00 on the same day.
If your order is placed after 15:00 (UK time), you have 24 hours to make any modifications.
After these windows, the order is processed, and changes are no longer possible.
Does the Made-To-Measure service include alterations if needed?
Yes, when your garment arrives in-store, we schedule a second fitting to assess the fit. If any minor adjustments are required, they can be completed quickly—typically within a day - so your suit is ready to take home without delay.
Are there limitations on customisation options in a Made-To-Measure suit?
Our made-to-measure service offers a wide range of fabrics, styles, and design details, all curated to align with our brand’s identity and craftsmanship standards. While fully bespoke options go beyond our MTM offering, we ensure that every choice available allows you to create a suit that feels distinctly personal and refined.
What style of suit should I wear for my wedding?
The perfect wedding suit depends on several factors, including the season, location, climate, theme, and level of formality. Whether you're celebrating in a sun-soaked destination or against the backdrop of the Highlands, our team -bringing over 10 years of expertise - will guide you in selecting a suit that complements your wedding day seamlessly.
How do I care for and transport my wedding suit?
Every suit purchased from our store comes with a protective suit cover, ideal for transporting your garment safely.
For long-term care, we recommend hanging your suit in the wardrobe inside its cover, with the zip slightly open to allow airflow. Minimising dry cleaning, as excessive cleaning can damage the natural fibres. Instead, spot cleaning and steaming are preferred to maintain the suit’s quality.
Following these steps will help preserve the look and longevity of your suit.
