How Our Made-to-Measure Service Works
STEP 1 - Book an Appointment
Operating by appointment only allows us to provide you with a sense of the exclusivity our process offers, from the very start. We’re committed to personalising the experience for each and every one of our valued customers.
Set up a time to visit our showroom, where you’ll meet with our team and discuss your requirements. Use our online booking system to secure your appointment in just one click, or feel free to get in touch with us by email.
STEP 2 - Design & Fit
We have a large selection of the finest fabrics from Britain and Italy for you to choose from, along with a wide range of design options. We’re here to offer our expert tailoring advice based on our years of experience.
We’ll guide you through the entire process, from fitting to production, all while making sure your experience is both seamless and enjoyable.
During your first appointment, please let us know if your order is connected to a particular event or date. This helps us guarantee a timely delivery, as factors such as fabric choice and construction can affect the turnaround time.
Next, we’ll take down your detailed measurements, using our own house block suiting. This system is used across our entire made to measure offering, including shirts, chinos, knitwear and outerwear.
Finally, once all other aspects are finalised, we’ll place your order and take a 50% deposit.
STEP 3 - Second Fitting
After placing your order, expect your clothes to be constructed over a period of 4-6 weeks.
When your order is shipped from our factory, we’ll arrange a follow-up fitting, where any necessary alterations can be made.
FAQ
What is the lead-time for a Made-to-Measure garment?
Depending on cloth and construction we usually require 4-6 weeks.
What is the difference between Made-to-Measure and Bespoke tailoring?
Bespoke is a fully handmade garment with a pattern completely made to your body shape. Made-to-Measure is a pre-made pattern that is adapted to your body. That is why MTM offers a much quicker turnaround of between 4-6 weeks as opposed to 3 months plus for Bespoke.
Can I customise the fabric and style in Made-to-Measure?
We offer fabrics from all the leading mills in Britain and Italy, with an extensive array of colours, fabrics and weights. Style is customisable with varying lapels, button closure, linings etc.
How are measurements taken?
We will fit you into one of our pre-made patterns and take precision measurements during your first fitting, we will work with you through this consultation process to realise your desired personalised look.
Does a Made-to-Measure service offer alterations if needed?
When your garment arrives in store, we will book you in for a second fitting to ascertain if any minor adjustments are required. This can be undertaken very quickly, and your garment can be ready to take home within a day or so.
Are there limitations on customisation options in Made-to-Measure clothing?
Unfortunately, yes there are. We have an extensive selection of fabrics and styles, which sit within our own brand identity and ethos.
What are the benefits of Made-tο-Measure compared to Ready-to-Wear?
The benefit of MTM is that the garment is made to your requirement from the fit to the choice of cloth and details. Compared to RTW which quite often, if we need to make slight adjustments for a better fit, will incur additional alteration fees which can be costly, and which ultimately will still not be as good a fit as a Made-to-Measure garment.
